5 Things to do In London This Christmas!

I know everyone loves Christmas day but it seems to come and go so quickly! We spend hours preparing for those few hours on the 25th and by 5 o'clock your wondering where the day went. To me the build up will always be the best part about Christmas.
From shopping to parties to sitting all snuggled up with a hot chocolate and a christmas film there are so many things to cram into 24 days. Here are 5 things I love to do to get me in the christmas spirit!

This is an obvious one for me. For those who live under a rock and do not know about Winter Wonderland, it is a big German themed fair/market which is held in Hyde Park. It is huge and there is something for everyone! For me the best part is the food! You end up spending your time eating all evening because everything looks so good! I recommend the mini pancakes, but just loose yourself in German food! You really can't go there and not have fun!

Ice skating is an extremely popular activity this time of year and you find ice rinks in all the common places for example winter wonderland or shopping centres etc. However Sommerset House is where you need to go! It is just stunning! Surrounded by museums the place has a classic feel and you can find some nice little coffee shops if you need a break from the ice. It is most defiantly worth the visit.

These three places are my go to's at Christmas. Even if your not shopping just walk around in these areas and you will feel the Christmas spirit! I would say try to go in the week as it does get extremely busy, but then again it is all part of it! You will find amazing light displays and there is not a shop missing so you are sure to find a gift!

Continuing from the last point in these areas you will find many departments stores such as Selfridges and Harrods. I have a tradition with my dad that every year we go wander around the department stores together and look in the Christmas shops. We even still look in the toy kingdom at Harrods because you know .. never grow up! Again try to go in the week if you can.

Lastly this is my countryside girl in me speaking. If you live in England you can not go a Christmas without a visit to the pub! My family have a tradition that we go to the pub on Christmas day for a drink every year however I like to go whenever I have an excuse to because .. the food. You can not beat a good pub lunch or dinner. There is something about pubs which make them feel homely. Nice sunday roast some pigs in blankets, sitting by the fire surrounded by christmas lights.. perlease this is my favourite thing to do out of everything I have mentioned.

There are so many other things to do in the build up to Christmas but these are my top 5! Click here to search for more things to do!

8 days to go!
