The Banana Tree | SOHO | Rode Reviews

If you have seen my GRWM/Follow Me Around for my Mum's Birthday video, then you may know I had lunch at The Banana Tree in Soho. So of course I need to give you the low down!
The Menu

 Pro's
-The Banana Tree is an Indochina kitchen serving Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian and Singaporean dishes.
-The menu is in my opinion amazing selection wise, nearly to the point there is too much to choose from I couldn't make up my mind! The menu is also very easy to read if you have dietary requirements.
-There is symbols to tell you if the dish is Gluten Free, Vegan, Vegetarian containing fish sauce, Vegetarian containing egg or Spicy.
-The portion sizes are amazing! I had the lunch express deal for £5.95 and the portion was huge! More than enough I couldn't finish it!
- Pricing is reasonable but like I said try and do the lunch express! Such a good bang for your buck!
- Presentation is impressive. My food was served on a piece of banana tree! Well I assume that was what it was haha!

Con's
- The food is not celiac approved! So if you have a strong allergy to wheat or gluten do not dine here.
- Although the food tastes unreal I did have a slight reaction the next day and after looking back on the website I read there may be cross contamination in the kitchen. This was my mistake for not checking before hand! Sorry for any of you with strong allergies! Like myself!
- I did tell my server I had a wheat allergy and she told me It would be fine! So that was a down point as that was in fact incorrect!
The Restaurant

Pro's
- I loved the ambience and the interior. It has an industrial canteen feel to it. A lot of wood and piping!
- Great place to go with friends or a larger group of people.
- Service was quick and easy.
Location

There are many restaurants dotted around London and you can find the closest one to you on their website www.bananatree.co.uk
I visited the branch in SOHO 101 Wardour Street, London,W1F 0UG.  Nearest tube Piccadilly Circus.
Overall

If I didn't have allergies I would give the restaurant and food a 8/10. However besides that I think it was excellent and I loved how there was a symbol to tell you if the dish was vegan! If allergies are not an issue then most defiantly you need to try this restaurant!
All being said If you do have strong allergies I would do your research or just be aware of the cross contamination. It is up to you if you want to risk it.

Well at least my reaction was worth it because it did taste amazing at the time!

(I did take pictures however it was so dark in the restaurant lighting wise it doesn't do the food justice! However there are some great photos on their website and social media accounts!)

Have you tried The Banana Tree?
