5 Beauty Rules I BREAK!

ivy rode

Yes I break the rules! I think we all do somewhere along the line! Here are my rebellious truths!

Rule 1) USE PRIMER
Primer never used to be a 'thing' until a few years ago. Yes it claims to make foundation look nicer on the skin and last longer but in all honesty I haven't found one which really makes much of a difference. Plus I don't wear foundation and if I do it is mineral so on the everyday occasion I skip the primer!

Rule 2) MOISTURISE
I know they say it is vital for a good skincare routine but any moisturiser I use even natural ones just make me oily and I get little bumps under my skin! I don't want the bumps and my skin is happy without it so I just like to use a hydrating toner instead! The only time I use a moisturiser is if I have a particularly dry patch so I would treat that. FUN FACT the only moisturisers I have right now are testers! shh!

Rule 3) USE AN EYELASH CURLER
I used to be the biggest fan of these until the day I realised my lashes looked so much better without it! I find my lashes are longer and lifted without using a curler and also they are in far better condition.

Rule 4) BRUSH WITH A TANGLE TEASER
Everyone says tangle teasers are the healthiest way to brush your hair and sorry I could not disagree more! I think they actually damaged your hair. I like to use a wide tooth comb and any breakage is to a minimum. I used to use a tangle teaser religiously I even had one in all my bags! Then I stopped using them and started using a wide tooth comb and my hair has nearly doubled in thickness! True story.

Rule 5) BRONZER ISN'T A BLUSHER
I am just not a blusher kind of gal. I think it comes down to the apple of my cheeks are my most sensitive area on my face and I don'y have a blush built for sensitive skin. However for years I have used a bronzer as a blush. I find it gives me a natural sun kissed look and I don't know I just really love it!

What rules do you break? Let me know!
