Lunch At The Mae Deli

On the 29th April it was your girls birthday! I knew I was going to be out and about in London so I decided to finally go to The Mae Deli.

Tucked away in down Seymour Place a short walk from Marble Arch station The Mae Deli was clearly the place to be. For such a quite road at the time I could not believe how busy the deli was! As soon as I walked in and saw all of the food presented behind the glass I felt like I was walking into now of her books.

TIP: If you are planning to eat in then go straight to the back of the deli to put your name on the waiting list for a table. This was not very clear and I was slightly confused when I got there.

After we got a table downstairs we went back upstairs to order our food. I went for a Mae Bowl with a mix of hot and cold dishes. My choice was brown rice, tuscan bean stew, charred kale and broccoli and sun dried tomato falafel. The total cost was £10.75 and for the quality of the food and portion size I found this very reasonable.

Each item tasted amazing my personal favourite was the falafel it just fell apart in my mouth! So good! My family had similar dishes and my dad tried the Thai Green Curry which he added chicken too and he gave it a big thumbs up! Which is good as my dad is not a health freak like me! After our meal we bought an Apple and Raspberry slice which again ticked all the boxes!

I found the Deli to have a really nice homely organic feel. The food tasted fresh and there was plenty of choice. It is great to experience simple ingredients tasting so incredible.

As for the ambience the Deli is quite small for a place with so much hype. It was verging on too busy and at times felt a little unmanageable with the amount of people. This is not a bad problem to have as it is a case of being so popular! Hopefully in the future there will be more delis! As for seating the tables are small and if you are in a large group you may find it hard to eat in. I love the feel of the place though like I said it feels like a home.

I will defiantly be back for more and you should check it out too!!
