Shea Moisture Deep Treatment Masque REVIEW

Shea Moisture is a new brand to me which I discovered in Boots. I decided to pick up the Deep Treatment Masque after hearing about it on youtube and today I am here to share my experience.

The Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque is infused with sea kelp and organ oil and claims to rehydrate, enrich and protect. You get 326ml and it costs £12.99. See pictures below for more claims and info.

The first time I used this product I followed the instructions on the back of the product which is to apply to clean wet hair.  So I shampooed my hair and applied the masque and let it sit for around 30 minutes until I washed it out. The constancy of the product is very thick and you can feel it gives a good coating. This meant it was difficult for me to thoroughly remove as I felt the product really penetrated into my hair which is a good and bad thing. Once I felt like it was washed out I allowed my hair to air dry. In the summer heat my hair takes under an hour to air dry and my hair was still damp 3 hours later! As I ran my fingers through my hair I could feel there was still product in my hair. I tried to blow-dry my hair to see if it helped the situation which it did however there was still product remaining in my hair. The next morning I had to wash my hair again. Although the process was a disaster for me once I got through this situation my hair did feel softer than usual. The smell of the product is strong but I quite like it, it reminds me of the scent you get in a salon.

After my first fail I decided to give the product another try however I decided to use it in a different way. This time I applied the product to my dry hair before planning to wash it and allowed it to sit in my hair for a few hours (I did this on a day I knew I was going to be at home). I then hoped into the shower and washed my hair as normal. BINGO this gave me great results. The product did not stick to my hair like before and the finished hair was lovely and soft and it felt very strong. I defiantly recommend using the product this way round.

I am really enjoying this product and I will defiantly finish the tub. I am not obsessed with it and I think next time I will try a different one from the range as there is lots of choice however I think the ingredients are great in comparison to other masques on the market. I am intrigued by this range and I will defiantly look into their other products.

Have you tried anything from this range? If so leave your suggestions below!

Have a great day!
