Confidence With ACNE

I have struggled with acne since I was 16. I am now 23 so I defiantly am familiar with the problem! Acne is like a never ending puzzle you can not work out and it is the most frustrating problem to me.

Acne is actually a lot more common than most people think however when you look at your acne you feel so singled out and on your own. I know this feeling, it has the power to drop my confidence into pieces... when I let it.

Today I want to talk about how to have confidence with acne. I want to give my tips to help you if you are struggling and hopefully by the end of this post you will see the light at the end of the tunnel.

First things first. Why do you have acne? That is an entire post in it's self! I believe acne is your body screaming at you saying 'something is not right internally'. Our face is a mirror to what is doing on inside and so you need to ask yourself a few questions. The questions I would ask are

1) What is your diet like? How do you feel after you eat certain foods?
2) Do you eat dairy, processed foods, fried foods, sugar, simple carbs and all of the sort?
3) What are your hormones like? Is there an imbalance?
4) Do you wash your face throughly? Do you have a good skincare routine?
5) What is your mental health like? Are you always stressed?

The questions can go on and on but these are some main ones. I think the sooner you look at your acne as your body trying to tell you something you can start to be proactive and get in touch with your body. Everything starts within. Majority of people go straight to products to fix it but that is a quick fix if you want to have clear skin in the long run look internally!

That being said I am extremely mindful with my health and I still suffer with acne. It isn't easy figuring it out but just keep trying and you will get closer to the change you want to see. If there is anything I have learnt natural is always the way to go!

Ok so you have a face full of spots, blackheads scars and marks but if you woke up tomorrow with completely smooth skin and not a mark on your face would you be a different person? NO! You would be the same person but with a different appliance to your face. Ok you might be happier but your personality, intentions and day to day life will be just the same. So the point I am making with this one is acne doesn't define who you are and what you do with your life. If you are so scared someone won't like you for the appearance of your skin then maybe they are not meant to be in your life because don't we all want to be surrounded by people who like us for who we are?

Acne isn't forever. It can be fixed. That is a fact.

Focus on the change you want to see and be proactive to make the change. Just don't waste your life holding yourself back from living waiting for the day your acne will go. You can still have a great life! I always try to turn a negative into a positive which is why I like to talk about acne and my journey to clear skin. I hope my journey can help you reading this. I too am just like you and I look to other girls to give me the hope I need to keep myself going.

My skin at the minute is purging. I am using a product which is high in salicylic acid and my skin is a crazy pizza face but I am trying to love it in a weird twisted way. Yes I wish I didn't have to go through this but I am focusing on the thought my skin is getting everything out and then fingers crossed once it is out I can work to maintain clear skin. I don't even know for certain if it will work but I am going for it and staying positive!

I thought by 23 my skin issues would be gone but life isn't serving me that right now and I either sit in my room and cry about it or I accept it and get on with my life and try to change it. Right now it is out of my control so the sooner I accept that closer I will be to clear skin.

Stress causes acne. It is a vicious circle so try to break that circle if you can and focus on the positive things in life. I also find it helps to be able to laugh at yourself. Kinda like I do when I go to bed with spot cream all over my face and say to my boyfriend 'don't you just want to rip my clothes off' lol gotta have a sense of humour and to be honest that is way more attractive!

Stay tuned for an upcoming post where I am going to share the little things I do when I feel like I am having an EXTRA bad skin day!

Smile beautiful!!
